Description

Flash Tape is an irridescent red foil tape used to scare birds away from outdoor areas. When birds see the shiny reflective surface, they will be confused, and frightened and want to avoid the area. Flash Tape is an outdoor visual deterrent, you simply tie it to areas where birds have become a problem, and the wind and sun will move and reflect off the tape creating a visual distubance in the area that birds will want to avoid.

Applications

Ideal Spots to use the Flash Tape

•    Trees
•    Fences
•    Vines
•    Gazebos
•    Patios
•    Gardens
•    Boats
•    Eaves

Flash Tape is an outdoor visual deterrent. It works in two ways, the shiny reflective surface will confuse and scare birds, and the movement of the tape in wind will  also frighten the birds. These combined visual disturbances will help to keep birds away from treated areas.

Specifications

•    Reflective red foil each side
•    Outdoor visual deterrent
•    Comes in a 150’ roll
•    2” in width
•    Wind moves the tape as light reflects off its surface

Installation

Flash Tape is very easy to install. The tape comes in a roll of 150 feet by two inches wide.

You simply cut off strips of the tape and attach them to the area where you want to deter birds. Each strip of tape should be at least 1-2 feet long, so that the bird can easily see the product as they approach the area.

Most people choose to tie or tape the Flash Tape directly to the plant, vine, tree, or affected area.

For Grape vines, gardens, and fruit trees:

For best results, it’s important to install the flash tape before your edibles ripen.
-Some will tie the strips directly to the plants.
-It is recommended that you tie a 1.5 foot strip every fourth vine, every second row when working with vines.

-Others choose to install stakes or poles around the crop.
-Place poles about every twenty feet. Poles should extend over the plants by at least two feet.  Cut five to six strips of the tape and attach to the top of the pole.

The movement of the Flash Tape in the wind, combined with the reflective surface, will scare birds away from the area.

Removal:

It is best to remove the flash tape once you notice that the birds are no longer a problem. This can help increase the effectiveness of the tape while prolonging the possibility of birds getting used to the deterrent.
